On the surface:
The AVPP (Audio/Video Player/Processor) is a  component that will reshape the way you interact with your home, while achieving levels of performance that set the standard for both audio and video. All this at a price that is almost too good to be true.
The AVPP is a number of things in one box, but unlike most integrated components that compromise performance for comprehensive feature sets, the AVPP exploits it's integrated nature to yield a price to performance ratio that is unheard of in the A/V industry. This integrated nature together with meticulous design and component selection is precisely what makes the AVPP perform at such a high level across all features.

Specifically, the AVPP is:

  • A Touch Screen Control System Processor
  • DVD player / recorder
  • CD player / recorder
  • Music Library Player / Server
  • Video Library Player / Server
  • Video Processor / Digital scaler
  • HDTV and SDTV tuner

and much much more. Shockingly, the AVPP surpasses the performance of most separate components in each of those categories.

Keeping Your Investment Secure
Let's face it, buying into any technology solution can be scary. Will I be able to operate it? How long will it last? Who will be there to resolve any issues I have in the future? What about new technology? Can I upgrade my system? These are just some of the questions you may be asking yourself, and rightly so. You should feel secure in your technology investment. Let me explain Music Mountain’s approach to system design and how that helps to keep your system available for your lifestyle enhancement.

  • Standard Hardware and Software Components.

Music Mountain leverages off of industry standard hardware and software platforms. This means that even if Music Mountain itself went away, that you can still get 90% of your server repaired by a certified PC technician.

  • Modular System Design

Music Mountain Systems are scalable and designed to be upgraded. All components are modular and with the exception of the motherboard, most upgrades can be made in just a few hours. This allows you to start small and grow your system at a pace that is comfortable for you.

  • Growing Dealer Network

Music Mountain Media and Control Servers are distributed through, and installed by an “Authorized Dealer Network”. This dealer network not only ensures that you will get the most from your Music Mountain System at the time of purchase, but also that they can support your system well into the future. If for any reason your original dealer is unable to service your system, Music Mountain will find another suitable dealer for you in your region. If no suitable dealer can be found, Music Mountain will service your system at the factory or via remote login. One way or another we will keep your system running.

Case Study: Performance Benefits for Video Playback
Let's talk a little bit about digital scaling.  If we take a typical example. Say you have a Digital Plasma or LCD Television and a DVD player with an "up-scaled" digital output. Normally, you would hook up your DVD player to your plasma monitor using the best connection available to you.  In this case the Digital HDMI cable. And when you play a DVD on that system, the picture quality is quite impressive, right? Sure, until you compare it to the crystal clear and lifelike picture produced by the AVPP.

For the purpose of this example let's say you have a 50" Plasma TV with a native resolution of 1376 x 768p. When you play a DVD on your stand-alone player hooked up to this monitor, the 480 lines interlaced (all DVDs produced for the consumer market are 480i sourced) signal that comes off of the DVD is digitally scaled to one of a few "HDTV standard" resolutions.  Most probably 720p or 1080i.  But even this "up-scaled signal out of the DVD player must be scaled up to the native resolution of your monitor, in this case 1376 x 786p. The plasma display or in this case a combination of the DVD player and the display will use an inexpensive and inferior internal scaler to do the necessary conversion. And for some people they actually do an adequate job considering that they are just thrown in with the TV. They don't, however, compare to a good external scaler that might cost between $3,500 and $60,000. These outboard scalers are far better at up-converting the signal while minimizing motion artifacts and other picture problems. But even with all the benefits of an external scaler, there is still signal degradation and multiple connections which will reduce signal quality and only the best video processors support all native resolutions of all TVs.  If we could somehow eliminate one, or preferably all three of these unnecessary stages of conversion, the picture would look dramatically better in every way!

Enter the AVPP. This revolutionary DVD player/scaler eliminates all unnecessary conversion stages, for systems with digital input. The result is an incredibly detailed and three-dimensional picture with no softening, blurring, or fuzziness. No noticeable motion artifacts, as well as excellent black levels and contrast. A good analogy is that "regular" DVD playback is like making a photocopy of an image that is from a copy of another copy made from the original. Using the AVPP is like looking directly at the original, in the case of digital displays. With analog displays it's like making one copy directly from the original, using a really good copy machine. It's that dramatic!

Performance benefits for Audio playback

Have you ever lost a CD? Loaned some to a friend never to be returned? Had a whole case full of them stolen from your car? Have you ever had to go searching through brief cases, and book shelves looking for that song or album title you just had to hear? Never again. The AVPP will store your entire music library in bit perfect digital clarity. With the advent of home networking, your library will be available from anywhere in your entire home - always. With the touch of a button, each CD in your collection can be effortlessly captured into your music library. The AVPP scans the CD, then automatically looks up the Artist's name, Album Name, Track Titles and Track #s, and even album cover art from the Internet. The track is then stored into your personal music jukebox.

Audiophiles will delight in the fact that the AVPP does not rely on any compression techniques that store your music in substandard formats. Although it is capable of recording and playing back all popular formats, the AVPP stores each file in it's native uncompressed format so not even the tiniest bit of degradation will occur on the capture process. If you are wondering, "What about my precious LP collection? After all, I think that my LPs sound better than CDs anyway." Well, FEAR NOT! The AVPP will make amazingly accurate recordings of your analog sources as well. The quality is limited only by the input signal. You will truly have to hear it to believe it.

If you have an extensive music library you might ask how can I fit it all on one machine uncompressed? The answer is simple: The AVPP has massive internal storage capacity as well as the option for an external media server that will store in excess of 6000 hours of high definition digital music internally.  If that isn't enough, media storage arrays each capable of storing 12 TB of data can be cascaded up to your network's capacity. That is more music than a radio station has. You can have your very own Music Mountain!

Finally, with a touch of a button you can also synchronize your music with your iPod or record custom CDs of your favorite music. That means you can take your favorites with you wherever you go.

Bottom Line
Couple the features outlined above with standard and high definition television reception, recording and playback and you have a system that replaces 75% of the equipment in your existing high end A/V system within a single chassis. Beyond that it will out perform each of those individual components by a wide margin.

Extensive remote control options will also allow you to take control of your remaining A/V components, as well as lighting, HVAC, Security, Irrigation and any other automated systems in your home.
